Cory Aquino’s Funeral & Burial on August 5 - Special Non-working Holiday

Malacañang has declared Wednesday, Aug. 5, the funeral & burial day of the remains of former Philippine President Corazon “Cory” Aquino as a special non-working holiday. This will allow the whole nation to witness the moments before Cory is brought to her final resting place beside her late husband, former Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr. at the Manila Memorial Park.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has declared a 10-day period of national mourning from August 1 to August 10 over the death of Cory Aquino through Proclamation No. 1850.
