Director Rafael Santos Feed Indie Actors 'Sky Flakes' & Pay Them in Cat Food
New director Rafael Santos recently told the people why he hires theater actors for his indie movies and he is now in hot water for his controversial remark about theater actors.
In an interview on ANC’s lifestyle program Cityscape, host Lexi Schulze asked Rafael about his preference to hire theater actors instead of some of the big names in showbiz industry. He bursted: “Ah, well, personally, I find the theater actors are better to work with because they don’t complain; you can feed them Sky Flakes three meals a day, and pay them in cat food basically” he said. “And they’re never late, and they cry when you want them to cry, other actors kasi you have to hit them first.” he detailed.
Rafa Santos is competing in the 2011 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival under the short feature category with his movie titled “Samarito.”
